Excellence in Action award goes to First Care Medical Services Nursing Home - 3rd year in a row!

My InnerView - an independent research company - recently awarded 519 nursing home the professions best-in-class, Excellence in Action award.  This honor recognizes nursing homes that achieve high levels of excellence as demonstrated by having overall customer satisfaction levels that fall within the top ten percent nationally of My InnerView's database.

By maintaining the profession's largest private database of quality customer and workforce satisfaction metrics, My InnerView gives leaders in assisted living, senior housing and skilled nursing projessions the research, insights and solutions that matter most to providing the highest quality care and service.  My InnerView works with more than 8,500 senior care providers throughout the United States.

This is the third year in a row that First Care Medical Services' Long Term Care in Fosston was recognized nationally for Excellence in Action.  Working together with residents and their families, First Care continuously strives to make the nursing home a place of enjoyment for residents.  As the result of a vote of confidence from residents and their families, First Care received an overalll customer service satisfaction level in the top 10% eligible nursing homes surveyed by My Inner View.

The annual award recognizes First Care's commitment to superior satisfaction through exemplary nrusing home quality care.  First Care has stressed continuous improvement, working together with residents and family, to find new ways to satisfy the needs and wants of residents.

Ruby Sistad, Director of Nursing in the Nursing Home said, "Residents at First Care Nursing Home are encouraged to voice their opinions and concerns to any staff member at any time.  I have been in this position since August 2009, and I see my staff working daily with residents to try to build a trusting relationship.  Residents are involved in the planning of food menus, activity opportunities or outings, and they are given the opportunity to voice an opinion on what has been already offered.  As Director of Nurses I encourage staff to continue to build the relationships with residents they started long before I came.  Our staff go above and beyond their regular job duties to meet resident needs and wishes," said Ruby.

Patricia Wangler, CEO at First Care siad, "I am very proud of our resident centered staff. In particular the development of I-Care plans, which are written by staff from the perspective and feelings of the resident.  They have hlped staff develop a more personal relationship; one in which the feelings and needs of the resident are foremost in importance.  Our staff is committed to repeating the top 10% in the coming year, a real testament to their commitment to excellence."
