Assisted Living

Prairie Pines assisted living center

The grand entrance of Prairie Pines Community welcomes visitors to the cozy, warm atmosphere of the fireside room, where tenants, family, and friends gather to play games, read, enjoy each other's company, or meditate in the warm glow of the fire. Tenants gather in the bright dining room for meals and to share coffee and snacks with one another or visitors.

The Best in Senior Living

Prairie Pines is an excellent option for seniors, and provides peace of mind in knowing that there is help nearby, while at the same time offering an independent lifestyle in a beautiful spacious apartment. Tenants of Prairie Pines no longer worry about how to get to their doctor appointment because the doctors office is a walk or ride down the hall! And no need to worry about mowing the grass, shoveling the snow, repairing the house, setting the clock, changing the light bulbs, shopping for groceries, or taking out the garbage; we will do it for you.

Amenities

There are twenty private apartment units with indoor access to the hospital, clinics, nursing home, fitness center, and beauty salon. Each apartment is equipped with an emergency call system as well as 24-hour staff support and services.

The assisted living staff will help with:

  • Refilling medication

  • Arranging transportation
  • Two meals daily are served family style in the dining room with the option to order the third meal of the day and eliminate altogether the drudgery of cooking and cleaning up.

  • The City Bus service is available for downtown shopping and local church services.
    • We offer several bus outings a week to a wide variety of destinations.

How do you know if assisted living is right for you?

Please consider the following questions:

  1. Do you have difficulty keeping track of medications or forget if you have taken them?
  2. Do you fall at times and have difficulty getting up? Do you fear falling in the shower?
  3. Is it difficult to keep up with the daily chores and maintenance of your home?
  4. Are you losing weight or struggling to make nutritious meals for yourself?
  5. Do you find it difficult to remember your medical appointment and find rides to and from the doctor?
  6. Would you like to have others around you to visit with and share meals with?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, then assisted living may be right for you. If you would like to discuss that possibility please do not hesitate to call. We would love to discuss your options and give you a tour.
